»Okay. We'd like to thank everyone who's come out to our Hyde Park City Council meeting this evening, August 26th, 2026. Um we will begin we will first I'm going to read out my statement. Right? Okay. So we're here to meet about our tax increase. The proposed 32.29 per household property tax increase would help fund needed improvements and services in Hyde Park City. Hyde Park City has increased the property tax each year to help keep pace with the rising cost of emergency services. The city's current budget includes the increased cost of emergency services because the city believes these services are necessary regardless of whether the proposed tax increase is approved. The proposed property tax increase will help the city address additional needs including hiring an additional public works employee and funding providing funding to repair more sidewalks, curb, and gutter throughout the community. These additional resources will help Hyde Park City maintain essential services, address needed infrastructure repairs, and keep pace with the continued growth of our community. So at this time, we will now open up our public hearing for citizen input on a proposed tax increase to the certified tax rate of 0.00110. It's approximately 9.74% increase. At this time, we invite you to come to the podium. Um please state your name and provide your comments. You'll have 3 minutes to provide your input. So, I'll open the public hearing. Anybody online?

»Okay. With no public comment, then we will close the public hearing and we will move on to be considered the resolution 2026-21, a resolution adopting the certified tax rate of 0.00110.

»Okay, we have a motion by council member Fells and a second by council member Allred to approve resolution 2021 or 2026-21, a resolution adopting the certified tax rate. Any further discussion?

»Uh I just like to make a statement. I I have looked into kind of what where this money would be going and I feel like it is for a needed purpose and um and so I I guess I just want to say that I have looked into this and so.

»Okay, motion carries 4-0. Okay, now we'll consider the resolution 2026-20, a resolution adopting the Hyde Park City final budget and turn some time over to Donya.

»Yeah, you'll notice in the the budget that was inbox, nothing has changed. It is exactly as the interim budget that was proposed. The highlighted areas showed what would be included with the property tax. Those highlighted areas will become part of the final budget, but nothing else has changed or nothing has changed. So, I just wanted to let you know that.
