Cache County Council Special Meeting – 01-20-2026

Yeah. We're good. Okay. It's we've arrived at the appointed time. Welcome to the special council meeting this evening, Tuesday, January 20. We'd like to recognize the absence of council chair Sandy Goodlander, Dave Erickson. That's it. We'll have an opening by Nolan Gunnell, and we'll don't have any motion to accept the agenda. No? Not on this meeting? Okay. Dave or excuse me, Nolan, would you please give our opening? I'd like to make my opening comments in the form of a prayer.

Our father in heaven, we come before thee. We give thanks for this nation and this country we live in and the freedoms and the things that we enjoy. We enjoy them at the sacrifice of so many men and women who've served in the armed forces. We ask that they be recognized both past and current and future, that they may serve and that our leaders may guide them in times of peace and and always strive that we may settle things by word rather than other ways of sure damaging. Grateful for this political system which we participate in. We're give thanks for it. Pray that we'll always be found serving and doing those things as we should. And this we ask and pray for in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen. If you'll stand with me for the with me for the pledge of allegiance, please. Our only item of business this evening is we have received from the notification from the cache county republican party that they have submitted the name of Joanne Bennett to serve as the interim replacement for cache county council seat, in Logan number two. And that being said, I would accept a motion to appoint Joanne Bennett to serve as the interim replacement for Cache County seat Logan number two pursuant to Utah State Code twenty a dash one dash five zero eight.
